Program :	ABC's of Parenting

Description:	The ABC’s of Parenting Program is designed to support the success of children in school while offering positive parenting techniques for parents and caregivers of children ages 3 ½ through 6 years of age. During the program, families learn how to: establish discipline through family rules, rewards, negotiation and alternatives to spanking and yelling; praise their children and themselves; express anger and stress in a healthy manner that does not harm their children and themselves; establish personal empowerment to make healthy choices and develop problem solving skills; and promote school success through relationships with teachers. Parents and children meet concurrently in separate groups with trained facilitators. Sessions are about 2-hours in duration and take place in the early evening. Hot dinner is provided, as well as gifts and $95 to in Pathmark Gift Certificates to each caregiver for completion of the program.
