ABC's of Parenting
- The ABC’s of Parenting Program is designed to support the success of children in school while offering positive parenting techniques for parents and caregivers of children ages 3 ½ through 6 years of age. During the program, families learn how to: establish discipline through family rules, rewards, negotiation and alternatives to spanking and yelling; praise their children and themselves; express anger and stress in a healthy manner that does not harm their children and themselves; establish personal empowerment to make healthy choices and develop problem solving skills; and promote school success through relationships with teachers. Parents and children meet concurrently in separate groups with trained facilitators. Sessions are about 2-hours in duration and take place in the early evening. Hot dinner is provided, as well as gifts and $95 to in Pathmark Gift Certificates to each caregiver for completion of the program.

Adolescent Substance Abuse / Half Day/After school Program
- For adolescents who are able to function in school, yet needs the structured support of a program several times a week to address their substance use as well as behavioral issues. Adolescents in the program receive psychiatric evaluations, medication monitoring, urine screening, psychological evaluation, individual and family therapy, parent support groups, skill-based group therapy, substance abuse education, creative arts therapy, step-down model and an aftercare/relapse program. The program institutes a behavior modification system that encourages positive behavior during the program as well as in the home. A clinician will schedule an intake evaluation with the child and guardian after receiving a referral form. A master’s level clinician and child psychiatrist conduct the intake evaluation and continue to manage the teen’s care for the duration of the program. Black Infant Mortality Reduction (BIMR)
