Adult Basic Education
- ABE is designed for persons who are least educated and lacking the most basic educational skills. Program instruction focuses on basic communication, computation, work readiness, civic and everyday living skills. Instruction is individualized and based on pre-tests evaluation and personal educational, prescription. Services include personal and career counseling, social services and employment information, computer literacy, and citizen preparation. Cliquebusters
- A series of workshops for inner-city youth (ages 12-19) that address individuality, peer pressure, self-worth, compassion for others, reality vs. entertainment, literacy vs. uninformed, high self expectations, gang awareness, and bullying. Workshops can be delivered in schools, community organizations, churches, etc. Follow-up includes employment and education referrals.

Computer Literacy
- This course offers the beginning student the basics of PC operation. It includes the fundamental navigation of Windows 95 and 98, file creation and management, basic word processing using MS word. Participants will complete the course with the ability to create and print documents using a variety of formatting and printing techniques.

- 45 bed shelter for homeless youth. Program goals include providing safe and short-term housing to youth, stabilize youth's living situation, and develop an individualized case plan that will help utilize youth's strengths and resources thereby helping the youth to gain independence.

Edison Job Corps
- Job Corps allow students to develop skills in a vocational trade while completing the academic requirements to receive a high school diploma or G.E.D. The vocational trades include automotive, brick masonry, carpentry, culinary arts, electric wiring, facilities maintenance, health occupation, office technology, painting, plumbing, security, tile setting, transmission technician, Microsoft certification, and additional trades that Job Corps is exploring. Residential and non-residential options are available.

Essex County Workforce Investment Act In-School Youth Program
- The Essex County WIA In-School Youth Program provides academic remediation, vocational training and work experience for Essex County residents ages 14-18. Students are tested at the beginning and at the end of the program to assess their basic skill level, and determine if their performance has improved during the program. Students are provided with paid employment, work readiness training and classroom instruction.
